2. A Mighty Fortress by Glad 

From legends of Christian metal to a legendary Christian, A Mighty Fortress can be traced back all the way to its original writer, Martin Luther. For those of you who don’t know, Martin Luther was a great Christian man who brought the Word to the masses by defying the Catholic Church’s hold on Christianity. This, in turn, started the Protestant Reformation.

This song goes all the way back to the Protestant Reformation in 16^th century; yet, A Mighty Fortress doesn’t seem like its aged a day. The song deals with the constant spiritual battle between God and the devil in reference to the Christian’s walk. The song is remarkable in that it guides us through our Christian lives and relationships with God, Jesus Christ, and our adversary, the devil.

The song is old; therefore, many versions have been recorded and sung throughout the ages. I chose the version of the song by the band Glad because their acapella version of the song is second to none, in my opinion.
